The Varsity Film Expo, is an annual event for emerging content creators in ‘varsity’. The event which celebrates film and filmmaking at universities features film screenings, speaking sessions, workshops, exhibitions and awards for outstanding productions.
The Varsity Film Expo, established as a premier platform for celebrating and promoting young African filmmakers, is dedicated to showcasing creativity, culture, and sustainable development. Held annually, the Expo gathers young and emerging filmmakers, industry professionals, and development practitioners, with the aim of highlighting the role of art in driving sustainable development and preserving African heritage. Through its diverse film screenings, workshops, and awards, the Expo not only elevates emerging voices but also builds bridges between art and social progress. The Varsity Film Expo supports the UN Global Goals and Agenda 2063, Africa’s masterplan for sustainable development.
